Your friend gets exiled to a monastery by her mother for “falling in love with the pain”. It’s here that she discovers “something inside of her dying”. This song is about mythologizing someone and believing in their powers in the face of mental or physical deterioration. I draw an analogy between deftness at the video game “Golden Eye” and wellness because some of the most serious conversations I’ve had with my friends happened while playing Nintendo 64.
